Why Does Salt Make Ice Melt Faster – Kitchen Chemistry

We are learning all about kitchen chemistry and experiments.

First, we made our science expriment, to see which of our three pieces of ice would melt faster under different circumstances. One of our ice pieces was wrapped in ice, one in covered in salt and one without anything on it. We observed and found that the one with salt melts faster.

Then, we filled in our sheet about what our hypothises what we thought would happen, then we filled in the section for the instructins, and finnaly our observation about what we found interesting.

Lastly, I did my resarch and found out why the ice melted faster covered in salt and why the tinfoil worked as insulation.

The Five Food Groups

We learned how to identify the five food groups.

First, I did my research obout the daily intake of each food group.

Next, I made a template in other words shape to put each picture and information.

Lastly, I put my information in and found some images.

I enjoyed this task because I learned  how much food I am supposed to eat. I need to improve on being more specific in my information.

I did well at making a good presentation.

Water filter

I learned how to make a water filter with a bottle, cotton balls, sand and some pebbles/stone.

First, we watched a video about how to do the water fillter.

Then, we skethced out what we would change about the filter on video.

Lastly, we made a DLO labeling what we skeched out and why we have thoses things in that order.

I did well at finding an interesting way to put my items in. I enjoyed thinking about what way would make it filter better. I need to improve on working with a partner.
